We select equipment for a specific process requirement: required capacity, material properties, feed and product size, operating duty, site conditions and downstream processing requirements. The product range includes rod mills and ball mills with shell diameters of up to 7 m and shell lengths of up to 11 m, as well as autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding mills with diameters of up to 11 m.

The mill type, shell dimensions, drive system, main bearing assemblies, liner system, lubrication system, feed and discharge equipment, and automation are selected individually according to the customer’s technical specification.

Engineering Tailored to Customer Requirements
We design mills for the customer’s specific application.

At the equipment selection stage, TAPP Group considers plant capacity, physical and mechanical properties of the material, feed and product size, abrasiveness, grinding duty, power supply parameters, cooling water temperature, climatic conditions, altitude and site seismicity.

For critical components, engineering calculations are performed, including strength analysis of the shell, end covers, hollow shafts and supporting elements. Depending on the application, the scope may include process flowsheet simulation, liner geometry and wear analysis, assembly verification, equipment operation simulation and drive system analysis.

This approach makes it possible to define in advance not only the mill size, but also the complete scope of supply: main drive, gear transmission, main bearing assemblies, lubrication system, feed and discharge equipment, liners, monitoring sensors and the option of integration into the plant control system.

Rod Mills

TAPP Group rod mills are used in industrial grinding circuits for ores and mineral raw materials where reliable equipment operation and controlled final product size are required. The equipment is engineered according to plant capacity, feed material properties, required product size and site operating conditions.

Ball Mills

TAPP Group ball mills are designed for industrial grinding of ores and non-metallic mineral materials in mineral processing plants and raw material preparation lines. Shell diameter and length are selected according to calculated capacity, material characteristics and final product requirements.
Depending on power demand, operating duty and equipment operating conditions, the mills can be equipped with single-motor or dual-motor gear drives.

Autogenous and Semi-Autogenous Grinding Mills

TAPP Group autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding mills are used in large-scale process lines where high capacity, reliable operation and project-specific engineering based on the properties of the processed material are required. The mill design is calculated based on material data, capacity requirements, process flowsheet parameters and operating conditions. Where required, ore sample test results and grinding process simulation data are taken into account.

Why TAPP Group
  • Engineering Partnership:
TAPP Group works as an engineering partner: we analyse the process requirement, select the mill type, calculate key assemblies and define the equipment configuration for the actual operating conditions of the plant.
  • Full Lifecycle:
We consider not only capacity, but also the full equipment life cycle: maintenance access, liner service life, drive system reliability, operating parameter monitoring, spare parts availability and integration into the existing process line.
