After auditing the Kovdorskiy MPP, we identified the problem and came up with a unique solution that made it possible, for the first time in history, to wash apatite-staffelite ore from clay on a horizontal screen. The screen was successfully tested and continued to operate efficiently with throughputs of 500 t/h - 650 t/h.
We also developed a project to modernize the ASO unit using an innovative Prime screen with a clay ore washing system. Its installation, as well as adjustment of the existing crushers, enabled the mill feed size to be reduced from 0-100 mm to 0-30 mm and the annual throughput to be raised from 2.4 million tons to 4.8 million tons, while increasing apatite recovery from 47% to 53%.
