World record for screen assembly
In 2018, our company was contracted to supply six Tapp Group PRIME 4080 horizontal type screens with a screening surface size of 4´8 meters.
Tapp Group 's PRIME 4080 screens have been individually designed to meet performance, environmental and plant-specific requirements of the customer. We we tasked to install our equipment at the process marks inside the main building.
The revamped enrichment plant was built in the 1960s and equipped with an overhead crane with a lifting capacity of - 9 tons, while the weight of the box screen of Tapp Group PRIME 4080 was 20 tons, which complicated the task and required us to deliver the equipment disassembled, by two crane bogies. The six-meter long assembly aperture allowed the 8.6-meter long flatbeds to be fed vertically to the mark, then they were turned to the installation site, and all large-sized parts were lifted in this way.
The assembly of the three screens was scheduled for August 2018, while all operations to replace screens in the second section of the mill were postponed to 2019 and were completed in June. The installation involved 16 specialists, and the work was carried out in a round-the-clock mode in two shifts. In 2018, three screens were assembled in 12 days. Four days for each unit. The screens were put up on pre-assembled vibration-isolation frames and lowered on springs.
In 2019, our installation team under the leadership of Prokhorov, thanks to the opportunity provided by the client, and provision of necessary equipment (according to the terms of the contract), in a well-coordinated effort, set a world record, assembling the Tapp Group PRIME-4080 A screen in 2 days.
The previous record of 3.5 days for a single screen of similar size was set in China in 2017
