Heavy duty screens are most often installed before crushers to separate the grade that does not need to be crushed. For example: 0-1000 mm grade material is fed to the processing plant; 0-80 mm grade is to be beneficiated; 0-80 mm grade is screened, and +80 mm is fed to the crusher for grinding. This way, an addition of a screen increases crushing efficiency and there is no need for a bigger crusher. If your company needs a larger capacity crusher, then maybe your screen is not operating to full efficiency and the crusher is struggling with small grade material?
